Octenilin® Wound Irrigation Solution is designed for fast, effective and gentle wound cleansing. Its low surface tension provides excellent moistening and cleansing properties, helping to remove wound crusts, necrotic tissue, pathogens, biofilm and fibrinous films from tissue surfaces.

Containing octenidine as a preservative, the solution helps reduce the risk of germ transmission into the surrounding area during application. It is suitable for use in difficult-to-reach areas, including fissures and wound pockets, and can also be used to moisten wounds, dressings and wound pads. Its good tolerability has been supported by years of clinical experience and studies involving chronic wounds.

Aqua valde purificata, Glycerol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Octenidine HCl.

Instructions for Use

1. Irrigate and clean the wound with Octenilin® Wound Irrigation Solution during each dressing change. The solution may be warmed to body temperature immediately before application. Dressings can also be removed using the solution.
2. Dressings and wound coverings soaked with the solution can be used to dissolve fibrin coatings. Repeat the application until all coatings and necrotic tissue can be removed and the wound is visibly clean.
3. Rinsing afterwards is generally not necessary. The wound can be further treated with Octenilin® Wound Gel, if required.
4. Use within 8 weeks after first opening. Close the bottle after each use.

Contraindications and Warnings

Do not use Octenilin® Wound Irrigation Solution in patients with a known or suspected allergy to any of its ingredients. If in doubt, consult a physician.

Do not use on hyaline cartilage, the eyes, ears, nose, urinary bladder or in the abdominal cavity. Do not inject or apply the product under pressure to tissues, as this may cause tissue injury. Ensure adequate drainage from wound cavities, for example by using a flexible drain tube.

To help prevent bacterial introduction, ensure the packaging does not come into contact with the wound. Do not use for infusion or injection. Not for oral use. For external application to wounds only.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Close the bottle after each use and use within 8 weeks of opening.
