High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a condition in which blood pushes against the artery walls with the pumping of blood by the heart. If this condition persists for a long time, it can be quite damaging to the body, causing heart disease. In simple terms, the condition in which normal blood pressure, which is 120/80, rises is known as high blood pressure. According to the NHS, about 30% of the population in the UK is suffering from high blood pressure symptoms.
