The Science behind Meno-Time

Se Chan Kang et al conducted a study, published in Archives of Pharmacal Research in 2008 titled ‘Anti-proliferative effects of oestrogen receptor-modulating compounds isolated from Rheum palmatum’. Here they tested five different compounds to determine their oestrogenic activity. From their findings they concluded aloe extracts activate the oestrogen receptors and ‘had the highest estrogenic relative potency’. Therefore aloe extract produces the hormones that menopausal women need in able to minimise the symptoms.

In an alternative study, Heyerick et al conducted a study titled ‘A first prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study on the use of a standardized hop extract to alleviate menopausal discomforts’, published in Maturitas, 2006.

Here Belgian researchers examined the effects of a hops extract enriched in 8-PN for the relief of hot flashes and other menopausal discomforts in 67 naturally menopausal (ovaries not surgically removed) women, aged 45 to 60 years. Responses were determined by means of a modified Kupperman index (KI) and a patients' questionnaire.

Participants were randomly divided into three groups: 1) 8-PN 100 mcg/day; 2) 8‑PN 250 mcg/day; and 3) placebo.

At 6 and 12 weeks, researchers evaluated the women’s frequency of hot flashes along with their other menopausal discomforts and complaints.

The results indicate that both groups receiving 8-PN reduced the frequency of hot flashes after six and 12 weeks of treatment. 8-PN also helped improve total menopausal discomfort score, which included not only hot flashes, but also insomnia, irritability, and heart palpitations as assessed by the women themselves.

Researchers concluded Hop-derived prenylated flavonoids may provide an attractive addition to the alternative treatments available for relief of hot flushes and other menopausal discomforts.

I am 47 and all my friends have started going through menopause. Luckily I haven’t but am well aware it will start soon. This is why I started taking Meno-time now so that my body becomes accustomed to the ingredients and hopefully helps my body be prepared for what is to come. I like to plan ahead.

I prefer all-natural options to helping tackle symptoms of menopause. My worst symptoms to deal with were the hot flushes which happen whenever wherever and were quite embarrassing to me. I decided I had to take something to help and luckily meno-time helped.
