Anaemia is a state that develops when the body lacks haemoglobin or red blood cells. These cells are essential for the body to supply adequate amount of oxygen. Anaemia occurs when your body is not able to get enough oxygen. There are different types of anaemia, like Pernicious Anaemia, Iron deficiency Anaemia and Megobalstic Anaemia. Symptoms and Causes
The loss of red blood cells from the body is known to be the main cause behind anaemia. Poor diet and supplements and other medical conditions may increase risk of developing anaemia. Women in childbearing years are vulnerable to iron-deficiency anaemia due to blood loss from menstruation. Anaemia is also common among pregnant women, as their blood supply demands increase during pregnancy.

- Skin becomes pale
- Can't sleep well
- Fatigue even after a long sleep
- Shortness of breath, mainly during exercise
- Difficulty in concentrating
- Stiffness in legs and arms
Inadequate amount of vitamin B in your diet may make you susceptible to anaemia. In fact, deficiency of vitamin B 12 is the most common cause of pernicious anaemia in the UK. You should increase intake of iron supplements in your diet.
