A recent study into the effects of low-carbohydrate diets in comparison to low-fat diets has shown a significant weight-loss difference between the two.
A total of 148 men and women participated in the 12-month study, with the findings being published by the Annals of Internal Medicine. Participants in the low carbohydrate category lost a mean average of 3.5kg more than those in the low-fat diet category.
As well as increased weight loss, those on the low-carbohydrate diet also saw a greater reduction in fat mass and high density lipoprotein cholesterol.
